Call to artists, crafters, videographers and cinematographers: (HISTORIC INFORMATION ONLY)
The Fifth Annual Wilton Arts & Film Festival was held on Saturday, May 30, 1998, with participation by many artisans, musicians, and producers of film and video works. The mission of the Festival is to showcase the arts and artists of Wilton and surrounding communities, while promoting the Town in a positive way. All proceeds go to the improvement of a revitalized downtown Wilton.
This all-day event was preceded by a Premier Movie Night on Friday, May 29th. The black tie event was held at the Wilton Town Hall Theatre with red carpet and spot lights rolled out and ready! The host for the evening was Steve Thomas of WMUR-TV Channel 9. A special night and premier movie, enjoyed by all!
Many checked out our premier, then stuck around for the Saturday festival with live music (folk, rock, country... you name it), art shows, street vendors, entertainers, dance, theater, poetry, together with film and video madness at the Wilton Town Hall Theatre. Approximately 100 juried craft and food booths participated in 1998. Admission to all events was free. I have posted the Film and Video schedule for 1998 as I feel this information is significant for those who participated and attended. The schedule for 1997 will be posted at some point in the future.
Video and Film Submission Fees: none for 1999. Materials were due on or before May 1, 1999. We requested that submissions be sent with a large, self-addressed, shipping envelope with sufficiant postage for materials to be returned.
